Barking dogs

What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?

All bark no bite makes jack a dull dog or so I like to put it.

To begin with, all my flags go up at the feel of warmth, and that beam of connection that cuts through the vacuum that lays in-between our cold gazes.

These flags are immediately painted various shades of color as soon as words get exchanged like different currencies battling to see to it that each penny counts.

First flag, green, glimpses into a future of fruitfulness as each articulation of words proves promising, exquisite posture, intellectual language and choice of attire, well calculated.

Sadly, I have stood at the door of pretence long enough to know how it looks like.

The shade goes from green to yellow, that serves as a warning ⚠️ of lips that know little of when to hold their tongue from spewing much more than required lest their well packaged words turn to venom.

Red; once this flag goes up, the scene has turned bloody, lies are detected in between the lines as clues pop up like a desperate treasure hunt except this time the treasure lays in the ashes. “X marks the spot 🤞”

Like a child trying to hide yet begging to be seen, I listen keenly to all that chosen not to be said amidst the non-stop words that keep flawing flawlessly, yet finding fault in each lie told unconsciously.

A fool is said to look wise as long as he chooses to keep his lips closed. 🔒 Saying alot unnecessarily shows how little you know yet silence is another language that may never get misquoted.
